A friend just phoned on the off-chance I had any BF861's ...

Nope, sez I, tried Ebay?

CountZero is right. We did establish, during another phone call, (liberally interspersed with innuendo far too rancid for the members of this Forum, noted for their lives of purity and innocence), that I should have been looking for a BF961..  Matey's error, not mine. And the BF861 is a J-Fet, not MOSFET. My error, not his!

However, all was not lost, I had a couple of 3SK88's...

Ah well Stew!. Interesting few minutes, even if in the thong direction.
He should have asked a Brazilian etc. etc .... ad nauseum ... via variations on a cats whisker  etc. etc.

CC. I do lie in a darkened room.  Can't afford the Leccy Bill ...  ::)
