Wndows 7 and Alibre ver 11.2
« on: November 16, 2009, 02:21:54 PM »
Crashed one of my computers and upgraded to Windows 7. Had no problem with it recognizing my accessories and software from other vendors in general. That's good. :)    But Alibre ver11.2 cannot be loaded on Windows 7, you must upgrade to ver 12. :zap:  Checked the Alibre website and that's the way it is. :(
I have another machine with Windows XP installed, so loaded it on there, got a new site license # and now I'm a happy camper.  If you have Alibre ver11.2 be sure to keep an XP machine operable.

Discovered the same thing.  Not only that, none of my other CAD programs would run either!  Wound up swapping the new 7 box for the older but still usable XP box that my wife uses for web surfing.  She got a new computer out of the deal, thanks to the buggers at Microsoft.

It sure is tiresome with these OS "upgrades"

Mind you, 7 sure is an upgrade over Disaster Vista ...... Don't ever by a comp with Vista ....

But then I never had any complaints with XP .....
