Anybody get an e-mail from ***** link removed ******* offering Machining e-books from The Shop Wisdom of The Home Shop Machinist to Machinist's Bedside Reader by Guy Lautard?
The e-books are downloaded from ********  as a .zip file that contains advertising for other e-books, a pdf of the e-book, and a password file. The pdf is password protected, and the passwords provided don’t work,at least for me anyway
Anyone succeed in getting the passwords to work?

I'm sitting here wondering if he's got the approval to even offer them.

With a name like that I'd wonder right at the begining. Looking at both books I'd say he doesn't have copy right. Perhaps a note to both Village Press and Guy Lautard stating a copy right violation is in order?

Bernd

Added: I just sent Guy Lautard an e-mail asking if he's given his permission to copy his books.

It's definitely a pirated offering. It also offers the Shop Master Series from Village Press. I spoke with George at VP a few minutes ago and he's not a happy camper.

Chuck, I've taken the liberty of removing the link as clearly this would be a breach of copyright, not on your part but by the original advertiser ........ I'm sure you'll understand.

I'll leave the thread as a warning to all members.

No problem. I suspected problems, that's why I posted here.
