grizzly small mill *Updated 5 Apr 2010*
« on: February 11, 2010, 11:47:09 PM »
I am shopping around for a decent hobby mill and I found this:
http://www.grizzly.com/products/Drill-Mill-with-Stand/G0704

Has anybody used/seen this mill? It looks like a beefed up X3 with a few  extra bells and whistles to me.

Update 5 April 2010

Grizzly called and notified me that they have no idea when the G0705 will be back in stock so I switched my order to the G0706, its not as nice but it is larger and much more powerful. With out further ado here are a few pictures.

Here you can see my dad, and the contraption that we used to lift the mill as we don't have a forklift. If you look closely you can see that we forgot something important. We forgot to put the chip tray under the machine before bolting it down. (DOH!)

And here it is after the second lift to get the chip tray in place.

Welcome to the collective Festus.  :borg:

I was looking at that mill to. I have the Grizzly min-mill. I was going to get the one you show but wound up with a Bridgeport instead. It was only 4 miles from my house.

I think it's a good buy.

Welcome to MadModder Festus. I don't know much about that mill but I am sure that someone will be along to give you their opinion of it. When you get a chance maybe you can tell us about some of your projects. Also, must warn you that  :worthless:

Cheers

I put my order into grizzly today, unfortunately it is back ordered until March 26th. All is well though as it will let me get the stepper motors and electronics together so I can CNC it.
