« on: April 04, 2010, 12:36:45 PM »
Hi

Yesturday i got a phone call from this bloke , who had getten my number from a friend of a friend , Any way he asked if i could make him a steering wheel boss for his custom car , so i went  and had a look , he has an old Vaxhaul Victor with a 6ltr motor in it ,,and he wanted to fit an American steering wheel to it , So this is what i made in S/S , so pleased i made the slotting attachment for the Myford , as it came in handy cutting the 36  splines

Cheers Rob

Very nice looking. Glad to see that the slotting attachment has came in handy for an unexpected job like this. Having something like that available can mean the difference between saying yes or no to a job like this. It looks like you have finished it off in fine style.  :ddb: :ddb:

Cheers

Nice finish on those parts. Couldn't believe it's stainless steel. Almost looks like polished brass.

Hi Rob, Nice job.
Were they tapered splines you put in? From memory all the ones I have fitted over here, have had tapered splines in them.

Thanks Davo and CC

Davo , i was exspecting taperd splines ,,,,,,, its an old car , and has straight splines , the boss locks on to the steering colum with a split taperd collet ,you could say a larger version of a cylinder head valve spring collet .

Cheers Rob
