Me too - also on Saturday, probably.

I see from Arc Euro's website that they aren't setting out a stall this year, because they are tied up moving to new premises. Good - that will probably cut down on my impulse buys!

Not a certainty here yet?

Cash and car come into question.... Problems with 4hr round trip journeys in a classic fuel guzzler!!  I also need to raise enough funds to buy a DRO.... Cheaper at the shows.... Usually?   (need that there Recovery type cover first too!)

If I can it'll definitely be the Saturday as I have the car to show on the Sunday. (as long as it makes it back  )

I'm not saying that Fords are unreliable..... Just mine has a tendency to break in a cataclysmic stylee!  (not a typo  )

I was going to go up on the Friday but I'm more tempted now to do the Saturday run.

I'm on my own time, this time round so it will be nice to spend a bit of time going round which is something you don't get to do when you are working at the shows.

I run the CNC machines for ArcEuroTrade at the shows and help out on the main stand when they get busy.

ARC are not doing Harrogate this year as they are in the process of moving to bigger premises and it's logistically impossible to do both in the time frame.

Howdy guys, IF one where to duck over the ditch to Ole Blighty.... which show would be the best to aim for? What time of years etc etc?

Just a long fermenting thought in the back of my (not so crowded) brain...

Cheers

Hi Rob T

Her's a list of shows http://www.model-engineer.co.uk/events/

Harrogate is one of the biggest and best but midland show at Warick and the Sandown show very good as well, they tend to be spread out through the year.

Hope this helps

Think I'm there on the Sat too, can't remember what I said now as will have to man our club stand at some point. Could be minus the family this time as wife thinks it'll be too much hassle to try and stop our 22 month old running off and touching things!

If I'm there on the Saturday I will try to meet up with a few of you guys.

I'll be their with John who will be on a red buggy, I've met quite a few of you before but for those who don't know us, we'll be around the Chester Stand at midday, and I'll be wearing a Black Base Ball Cap.

Cheers

Nice meeting up with known and unknown faces.
Thanks to John [bogs] for some fine grating magnetic packers [ or whatever they are called ] A couple of the lads at the Chester meet I did know, some were new to me like John Rudd and Rob Wilson.

Saw Rich and Julian earlier just to swap insults with.

Rob Wilson was a pleasant surprise, after all the fine finished work he puts out I wanted to hate him but he's such a pleasant guy I found it hard to do

I had a nice relaxing day, far better than a quick rush round at the start of a show which is what I have been used to doing.

Managed a natter with David Clark, editor of ME and MEW and a nice chat with Giles Parkes on the SMEE stand, a real gentleman.

Didn't see Ivan Law as I normally do as he's a judge there but noticed that Barry Jordan was judging this year, anyone know if Ivan is OK ?

John S.

Yup there certainly some characters there, Bogs, Rob, Stew, Dave( Stilldrillin'?) the venerable John Stevenson

and Circlip...

Certainly made the 200 mile round trip worth it...apart from lightening the wallet of course........

Saw the infamous Martin Ransom and his boat collection...very nice..

Hopefully see you all and more next year
