Free Machining course...
« on: April 29, 2010, 09:57:13 AM »
Hi guys...
I am about 2/3'rds of the way thru this course.
They send you a pretty good book for free.
You read a chapter ...take a test. If you fail you can retake it.
You read a chapter ...take a test.
You read a chapter ...take a test.
You read a chapter ...take a test.
Repeat.... spin.... dry... you get the idea.
NO cost.

And I'm learning a LOT.

The book is easy to read,(LOTS of pictures!). Covers machining of most all types. They give you 6 months to complete the course.
There is some "advertising" in that they feature their products, but it is not unreasonable or out of line considering the price.

Be well!
Glenn

Heya Glenn,

I think you may have left out a link to the book or course?

Syllabus looks OK but ....

Please Note: The Home Study Course is for U.S. registered students ONLY, and if not completed within 6 months there will be a $150.00 charge.

Pity about that.

When you take the tests and fail, you can retake them.
All are less than 15 questions.
SAME TEST...SAME QUESTIONS....SAME ORDER.
In theory you could "comeplete" the course in 2 hours or less.
