Johnny

They were just sitting there like 3 cute little kittens. When I clicked each one it magicaly expanded to full size in an instant just the way I like them to. They 800 x 600 size is a nice size as people on dial up can open them without a long wait. In my opinion this is the perfect size for pictures in this forum. Thanks for showing us the neat tailstock.  :ddb: :ddb:

Cheers

Johnny,

When you load them in the reply screen they do not show. They will show once the thread is posted. The attached picture will automatically expand to the size you uploaded them at when clicked on.

And as Don says 800 X 600 is ideal. This is the standard size for web pictures.

Those lathe fixes/builds looks similar to one of the members here on the fourm.

Nice Mod Johnny

Dean W is the man for the mods on these. Well he is as far as this lot is concerned!!!  http://www.deansphotographica.com/machining/projects/projects.html

I have the Peatol (British for Taig??) up for sale at the mo' Still not much interest? Not even a silly offer??  I suppose if no one is looking then there's not much chance of selling?

Looks like you're enjoying your machine, they are fun to use.... I just got the 9x20 and stopped using the little machine.... Shame to see it there unused.

Anyway, I'm rambling again....

Enjoy  :ddb:

I have studied Dean's site very much. I would love to be able to make those boring tools using the lathe mounted mills only I am not sure if I would get the desired results. Dean has inspired many of my mods so far.

Hey Johnny you've got to give it a shot. Can't but learn something in the process.

Never say "can't". You'll defeat yourself before you start.

Just went to his sight to take a look at what your talking about. I see you mean the "boring head". That would be a bit of a task to take on. From the pics I've seen from what you did I'd say give it a try. Dean has it written so anybody can follow the build. Just take your time and make one part at a time.

Hey I screrwed up a part today for my CNC mod. It was a very simple part too. That isn't going to stop me from carrying on.

Johnny, do you mean you want to use a blank Taig arbor to make the flycutter?

Yes I do Dean. Haven't seen any diagrams on drilling one of these, and I am sure there is a certain angle to have the bit for best cutting?

I did mine at 20°.  That's for the slot that holds the bit.
There's a write up on my website, so I won't go over it all here.  The one on the website is for the
milling machine, but it will work the same on the lathe using a blank arbor.
