Shop built toy Gyroscope

Howdy,

Gyroscopes are interesting, so I made one because I acquired an old hydraulic cylinder tube needed try out the new parting blade set up I bought from Enco.  I'm posting a Youtube video of it in action.

Thanks Dean.

I see you your from Idaho also.  I have spent some time going over your website before and hope to make some of the gear cutters you build. Cool stuff you do!

Nice work Al.

I like you find gyroscopes fascinating.

Now that would be a nice project for someone to make there grand child a Christmas pressie, something that teaches and will never deteriorate plus having the memory that Pop:s made it!.

Well done sir.                              Anthony.
If you cant fix it, get another hobby.

I gotta make me one of these!

I might have missed it, but I didn't see how you attached the two half rings to the single one.  Pins?

Thanks for the nice video.

Thanks all.

CPRitter : I attached the horizontal ring by chamfered the inside ends and welded it from the inside.  Kind of a pain to get everything lined up and clamped properly before welding.

If your contact point was true, wouldn't it spin true? I like this... right up there with the turners cube!
