hi all
« on: January 04, 2011, 03:54:25 PM »
hi all, been lurking around the forum for a while and thought i would join up, i must say the forum is very informative,  my main interest is building steam engines, started of with stuart 10v, also the beam engine, then made a 3.5 black five, then a 3" burrell traction engine, i sold both of them to fund building a 4" garrett, not got very far on that yet though, i also build and restore airguns, and restore antique guns

Hiya  :wave:

Welcome to the collective :borg:

Went to your site, the traction engine looks nice. Do you do airguns full time or is it sideline thing? The knifes looked pretty nifty as well, custom made?

Eric

hi eric

the airguns are just a sideline thing, there is to much work involved making them by hand to make a living from them, the only parts i buy for them is the barrel liner, i make everything else.  i make the knives and the cases myself,  but again on a sideline basis.

i work in a gunshop during the day, and just  do the other work at night, beats watching the television.

Take your time have fun and enjoy the banter  :beer:

One question.... Why are you not taking orders on the Spartan?  Purely curious. I have no where near the funds for such a beast!

thanks for the comments guys,

ralph, the reason im stopping making the spartans is, to be honest im just fed up of making them, theres just to much work in them for the money you get back from them, i just make the airstream actions now, and customers have the stocks made out

As said... Idle curiosity  ::)

What you like on re-con' of 1960 Diana 16 and 25's? Although other than trying to pick you brian on the matter it's not gonna be profitable.... Prob' couldn't afford that either?    :doh:
