CNC/CAM help
« on: February 21, 2011, 06:44:26 PM »
Does anyone have some recommendations for a CAM program?

I have downloaded a few free\trial ones and I am having some difficulty doing what needs to be done. For example, I am trying to make a bracket. Simple outside contouring... All the ones I have seem way to complex to do something so simple.

Try CamBam.

If you send me your DXF file I'll see if I can produce the CB file that I'd use.

My preference is for Sheetcam  ( www.sheetcam.com) as it has served me well and the service and updates given by the owner Les is fantastic. It is a 2.5 D program that will run under windows (and linux when he updates that version). Presently, many are running it under wine in their linux setup.
