Let's all get it moving

Right gents, getting it into site buildup mode here.

I am not a member of the admin team, just a person that likes to see things moving occasionally.

I am tied up at the moment with a bit of money making work, but that will be finished very soon, and I will be starting all sorts of topics soon, mainly engineering based. Of the type I used to do on another site. So there might be little follow ons from what I posted there.

But back to todays problems with this site.

This, as far as I am concerned is a site dedicated to minority pursuits, whether it be male or female or even other orientated desires, we need to get those topics raised up and moving.

It is a fairly easy exercise to do, here is a little post I did on one of the model boat sites I visit.

Quote
I thought I would let you know of a new forum that starting to grow.

It tends to cater for minority projects, like we have one chappie that makes amplifiers with the old glass valves, and another making a sidecar for his old Goldwing, plus a few enginering projects. Almost anything goes, within reason of course.

So if you have a sort of minority hobby passion, whether it be stringing beads together, or making a caravan (yes, a chap has done a teardrop one), it just might be the place to show it off to the world, and also you might find someone who shares or is very interested in your projects.

It isn't trying to compete against great sites such as this, but give an insight into other peoples' minority passions.

Something along these lines, posted in a few of your own sites that you visit just might attract the sort of people we would welcome here. I know for a fact that my little advert attracted two very  knowledgeable people here, plus a personal invite brought in another one. If we all did something like this, soon this site would become an area for design and research in minority interests that would be second to none. Just think of all the experiences in all manner of skills, merging together to discuss and help each other. The outcomes could be mind boggling.

If you are making a vid, just mention the site in the trailer, it all helps. Imagine if everyone managed to bring in just one specialist in his/her field, by advertising or personal invite, we could double the membership overnight.

John,

I appreciate you doing this. Unfortunately, I am on all the same boards you are on.

Eric,

I am only doing it to keep the site varied, and is purely self centred.

I want to see what other people get up to in their own little worlds, and LEARN NEW THINGS.

This is a real chance to get a truly unique site on the world internet map.

I know I can't see some of the site topics, at my request, so there might be lots going on there that I can't see, but on the bits I can, it is starting to work, with lots of interaction between topics.

It is always nice to have a bit more than you can cope with.

John

It's good John.

I quite agree with you. We need more members with a diverse range of interests. Once I get squared away (started a new job today) with my life and finances... I have a few projects that I am going to be posting about.

Long live madmodder!

John,

You've just given me a great idea. I've got my own website and I don't have a link to this site. Gonna' have to do something about that.   :headbang:  :D
