I have a few modest talents. Knowing what I'm doing isn't one of them.

I've cut the end off it twice, but it's still too short

I don't see why? The only thing between where you are now, and having the skills to do the job, are time & practice?

Edit to add: And probably quite a lot of scrap metal...? I expect that'll be the case in my experience...

Dave,

I have to agree with Ade on that.

There are basically two ways to get such results, experience or throwing money at it.

If you can do a bit of turning and milling, it is only patience, perseverance and gaining the experience that is lacking in producing things such as those. Get that experience and you start to get respect within the modelling fraternity.

I daren't go into further details about the other method because it would upset too many people.

Ade, John,

I would partly agree with you. I do have some of the skills to make some of it. But I would not consider an undertaking like that.

I sometimes wonder, when I see such things, just how much went in the scrap bin ?? As Ade says.

And how many 'recovered errors' there are, no longer visible?

I cannot imagine there are none.

Nope, not for me ... happy to admire from afar, as it were.
