Garden watering ...
« on: June 08, 2011, 11:17:31 AM »
I'm so tired of these "plastic" watering tools for the garden

- they can't stand the light from the sun and they are so highly sensitive !

I'm searching a simple and stable garden watering tool - best with no moving parts ... no plastic .. ... steinless steel  !

Does any of you have en "blue print" for such a thing ?

Best regards

That's really going to be nothing more than a tube with holes in !

It might however be possible to make a sprinkler with only one moving part using the water as a bearing, in such a way that it does not wear out and the water pressure to move the spray around.

It would at least make an interesting design exercise :)

how about a solinoid out of an old washing machine some are low voltage the type of solinoid that is used to let water in , plus a time switch, if the solinoid is low voltage a cheap plug in transformer OH a box and some hose(for in and out of box ) and some quick connect couplers to conect to tap any watering system,

I am not sure how good these are because I haven't tried them, but from what I have heard this Aussie invention is supposed to be good.

I was just having a look in their FAQ and they say they can be bought from www.hoselink.co.uk or www.ebay.com (search "Hoselink") to purchase kits only.

Just some words of caution
1: Buy GOOD QUALITY fittings.
2: Turn off at the tap when finished using.
Theres nothing worse than finding your garden under kilolitres
of water when coming home after a day out because the hose
blew off the fitting.
3: BUY QUALITY

br

PS Where do you fit the hose on that metal thingy?

spotted this, a nice time switch and a small transformer in a plug top and you have a bullit proof system.
