Dual Purpose Lathe Carriage Stop
« on: September 06, 2011, 11:03:36 AM »
Hi again folks,

Got the bug at the moment and can't keep out of the workshop!!  Put together this Lathe carriage stop for my Warco 918.  The "dual purpose" bit means I can attach a Dial gauge at the same time, or use without, whatever, anyway I'll let the photos tell the story.

 :mmr:

Think I'm suffering De Ja Vu and Amnesia at the same time, I'm sure I've forgotten this before!

Nicely done!

Is the dial indicator only held on by the magnet?

No, if you look, it is held on by the screw/extended-nut clamp that locks the extending bar.  And yes, it is nicely done!

That is marvellous!

I saw a saddle stop mounted on the side of the bed casting in ME magazine but my Drummond is round and wavy at that point so could not see how to mount one.

Yours is absolutely what I need and so many other uses too

Many thanks
