Myford Monopoly ??
« on: September 10, 2011, 12:52:26 PM »
As many will know Ower Gert has been selling bits on Ebay for
engineers for a while.
However since RDG has taken over Myfords they are systematically
having any object containing the word Myford removed from Ebay.
Whether it's listed as a genuine Myford, a pattern part or even a
second hand part they are being removed.

Jim Marshall who trades as Lathe-Parts UK and sells genuine Myford
second hand spares has even had some of his listings removed.

Does this mean you can no longer sell a secondhand Myford or any parts
off it, seems as if they think so.

Rather ironic that for years they have sold cheap import patterns from
India which ultimately helped the demise of Myfords and they were not
stopped, but now the boot is on the other foot it's different.

We are not the only people being attacked, Jim Marshall as mentioned
and even Chronos have had items removed.

Just a heads up on the new owners underhanded ways of trading.

John,
I've dealt with RDG and consider I've spent quite a bit with them. I sent them a email yesterday about this and said that unless they change their methods I would no longer do business with them. So far I've not recieved an email back from them. With business practices like this they may as well be wearing SS uniforms. And your as usuall quite correct about them selling cheap knock offs that hastened Myfords demise. Ebay is just as bad for taking RDGs side too. There's no way any of this is legal.

Ooops,
Just had a Dividing plate suitable for a Myford dividing head removed from Ebay.

Same old excuse, using the Myford name.

Perhaps we should have listed it as "Load of Indian tat NOT suitable for a Myford " seems to have worked for RDG ?

Is this only an issue for the UK Ebay?  I just took a look on Ebay here on the other side the pond and there are 116 items listed.

It seems he just targeted a few people selling items that he knows. What his meaning was I don't know, but he soon backed out of it and gave his permission to John and others to sell parts, (big of him)

I actually really like the guys at RDG and they have helped me a lot over the years and always good to talk to when I call in. That being said, I must admit, they spam the Myford name more than anyone! I often search for Boley to see what is available for my watchmakers lathe, only to find them selling flycutters and toolsteel...especially for Boley apparently , I don`t know why they won`t work with a Lorch or Pultra !!

I`m glad they have seen sense and I do hope they reconsider their own advert lisiting titles.

I've always had very good service from them, and always good to talk at showtime.

Just noticed there are a number of Myford lathe part on E bay Australia .   Checked and these are offerings from the UK.  More than one way to skin a cat as the saying goes.

Also there is a myFord registered in Australia for people to talk about their Fords, seems to be sponsored by Ford Australia.

I also have bought stuff from RDG but won't again .
