(I must be going senile, I thought I had already posted this....here it is again.. :palm:)
Shop pictures...

Workbench with Drummond lathe at the end of the bench,  note how tidy I like to keep my bench!!!  LOL

...this is my new concrete bench showing 12x36 lathe,  10" cold saw and little Adept shaper..

....a more general view of the shop...

IMGP9397 by aardvark_akubra, on Flickr

....another view of the concrete workbench, two part epoxy paint seems to be able to stand up to oil but it hasnt been exposed to coolant fluids...

I have grouted under the headstock end of the lathe but the tailstock is just standing on bolts until everything settles a little more but even as it is the lathe is much more solid and I dare say quieter in operation.  The shaper and the cold cut saw are standing on rubber feet (the biggest rubber door stops I could find).

Hi John

Looking good. I can see that you are getting everything organized and in its place. Tell me I didn't see a lawn mower sitting there! Looking forward to hearing many more tales of happiness coming from your shop John.  :D :D

Cheers

**still want pictures of the Lego room...

See those big drab coloured drawers behind the orange Electrolux  hover lawn mower?  Those are the (still empty) bulk Lego storage modules, the room itself has not been started yet it has taken me all this time to get my workshop out of the container and into here.  Lego room will be just through one door from those drawer units.  But I had to clear the workshop end of the container first...

Very nice shop John. Like Eric I'm jealous. I have the room just haven't got it "orginized".  :palm:

I went back to look for the lawn mower. It's one of those that floats right? I remember the commericals on US TV about those. Man, that was years ago.

Anyway, I'm interested in that cold saw. Got any close up pics of it?

Yes Bernd, a little Electrolux Flymo,  it sort of floats.  They are actually very good and easy to use, electric too so I never have to phutz around with fuel cans and of course it always starts. Yes, it can cut through its own cord!

I will do a photo essay on the cold saw as they have been discussed on another forum recently and might be interesting there.

Hi John,
Your setup is looking great and organized in such a short time. Moving is a big job in itself but you have pulled it all off nicely.
The bench looks like it is serving the job and it is one that will go down in history for many many years to come being made out of concrete.
You need to sit back and have a well deserve  Great work and planning.
You must have a wonderful wife like I have to let you spend the time in the shed and support you and your hobbies.

Thanks Dave.

John

It is a good thing that you have a big wide moat around your property to protect Sally Shaper from some of my fellow country men and others. It seems she is a very desirable young lady. Protect her well John.
