Ouch
« on: October 31, 2011, 05:30:25 AM »
I have got Pleurisy!

**** me it hurts.  :bang: :bang: :bang: So much for thinking it was just a pulled muscle

Harrumph, will be back at the machines asap.

PS: Anyone know where to add the lubricating oil? I'm sure that's all it needs...
Cheers!

You have my sympathy, Ade. Like you, I thought it was just a pulled ribcage muscle, but then I started getting short of breath when walking. An X-ray showed pleurisy.

If it's any comfort, antibiotics soon sorted me out. I rapidly began to feel better, and another X-ray 10 days after the first showed it had cleared up completely. There was no long-term damage.

You have my sympathy too. I did get some stellar service at the ER when I went in short of breath and clutching my chest though. Its years ago now but if I recall correctly the drugs sorted me out pretty promptly.

Buggeration, it's worse than that, so now I'm in for the night :(

John - looks like our conversation on Tuesday jinxed me.... no infections for months, and now I'm hospitalised!

Should be back to normal in a couple of days :)
Cheers!

Oh dear!

Never mind. Perhaps the nurses are pretty  :)

It's traditional to take bunches of grapes to those in hospital, so I hope you enjoy these:

Never mind. As we used to say to our kids when they knocked something "its only pain" They really loved that remark!

Same best wishes from me too; I have got a trapped nerve in my neck or shoulder. It feels like full on cramp in both arms and across my shoulders.

My darling wife believes in the mind over matter thing too...she doesn't mind and I don't matter!

Ade

Best wishes and get yourself well soon but don't push it. When you feel better, give yourself a couple of extra days of rest. You don't want it coming back for a return visit. Ask me how I know.

I was going to send grapes but they would probably have fermented by the time they got there. Then you would have had the extra hassle of trying to clear alcohol thru customs. So like Bernd I ate them instead while thinking of you.

Cheers

Ade, as for lubrication I'd try some Laphroaig.  B magic but its little and often, that'ly cure anything. Or at least make it go away for a time.  :bugeye:

Wow, what can I say? Thanks lads - your thoughts & well wishes are really appreciated. I'm on the mend now, the antibiotics are really working it seems, looking forward to getting back to the machines Real Soon Now.

 :nrocks:

PS: I bought my own grapes...  :palm: They really are very nice.
Cheers!

And Thank You for the gift of fruit--- and the spirit in which it is given?

Of course 'Fergus O'More' is the name of the spirit which looks onto the Spey Valley-- which has the Whisky Trail.
