Acetal bezel tool update
« on: November 18, 2011, 03:14:54 PM »
Chaps,

As you might know I have been working on non marring watch bezel removers please check the photos below, am still tweaking the design but it is getting there.

First design

Second design to be added.

Third design tool 25mm shorter and 15mm narrower means I can get an extra tool cut from the acetal plate.

Bry,

I can't tell from your photos if the thumbscrew is just running in a tapped hole in the acetal or not. If its just running in the acetal, the thread may not last that long.  Suggestion would be to either have some form of threaded metal insert - or what we do quite often is to use a helicoil.

Hi there,

I'm using brass threaded inserts press fitted they work a treat, yer helicoils are quite good tho only ever fitted them once to ally threads many years ago.
