I have the GHT gubbins but the 'Lidl' stand is rather more versatile becuse it can be turned into a horizontal plane -- and fitted on the lathe saddle- but with an electric drill to drill or mill.
For those with GHT's Workshop Techniques book, the Lidl stand can be used in a similar way to the Jim Batchelor idea which converted the drilling part of the Universal Pillar Tool onto- in this case , a Myford lathe.
A million years ago ( give or take a couple of days) I wrote about using a wood router as as tool post grinder using a 43mm collar which is pretty standard on such drill things.
