ticket inspector stabbing
« on: December 18, 2011, 04:03:53 AM »
Another victim of ticket dogders, but this time stabbed in the back...

Comfortable in hospital, Police are now looking for the two youths who committed the attack..I hope they are found and dealt with appropriately and not just a smack on the wrist or community service.......

Hi John,
I hope I've read this wrong  but If I haven't, I hope you make a good recovery this side of Christmas
as to the perpetrators I heartily concur with your sentiment!

Kindest Regards
Terry T

Terry,

Seems the way I've written gives the impression it was me?

Not so...fortunately...

I posted the thread on the back of the story of the public hero who ejected a ticket dodger up in Scotland a few days previous...that made the news...

For those of us on this side of the pond, exactly what is a ticket inspector?

I would guess a ticket inspector would be like the train /bus cunductor that checks and punches your ticket.

To travel on buses trains or other modes of public transport in the UK (and I'm sure everywhere else in the world) requires the purchase of a valid ticket..
Failure to produce such on demand could/will/should result in the offending passenger being ejected/removed/thrown off/out of, the train/tram/bus/railcar etc...Unless he/she is prepared to purchase said item for the duration of the journey being undertaken

The ticket inspector is there to ensure that passengers are in possesion of said item and if not carry out the appropriate action as above..

Sounds harsh? Not really, as a fair paying passenger why should others travel for free?

Maybe not Christmas spirited...
But this happened before the Advent period and applies all year round...

Nothing is for free.......Everything else has a price..
