Hello from Sunny Cambridge (UK)
« on: December 22, 2011, 12:22:51 PM »
Hi
I have been an occasional guest here for a while so it is time to stop peeping over the fence and climb in<G>
I am a recently retired engineer/designer with 40 years of experience working in some of the design consultancies around Cambridge England.  I started out back in 1961 by serving a a 5 year scientific instrument making apprenticship at the Cambridge Instrument Company but I have actually spent most of my life on the drawing board and later in front of a CAD terminal.  I have always made things eversince I could walk and mostly built model aeroplanes in my youth (and dottage).  I am currently doing the detail design of a 2ft narrow gauge loco for the Lynton & Barnstaple railway in Devon, recreating the  Baldwin 2-4-2T LYN that ran on the line from 1898 until it was cutup in 1935.
I have a website where most of my interests are documented including a design log for the loco.

Mike

Hi Mike, Welcome to the collective  :borg:

reads like you have quite a good time making/repairing a lot of stuff, I especially like the large lathe to make small pipes

See you around the pages
