Belated Hello from new member!
« on: December 31, 2011, 03:19:30 PM »
Hi All, from very wet Wales (Bangor area). I arrived here following a thread on ME forum by Bogstandard, so it's all his fault! I like to make "things"/play and make guitars/mess about with electronics/ drink Jack Daniels. The workshop is contains my Harrison 9" (L5) and  an Axminster/Tiwanese mill and all the usual junk. I'll lurk until I have something useful/useless to say. Naff.

Hi there Nathan  Welcome to the club.

I have made a couple of guitars a few years ago, although on the 1st one I took the easy way and bought a pre-made neck. I posted a couple of pics on here of my 2nd attempt, http://madmodder.net/index.php?topic=2264.0

Hope to see some of your work too, hint hint, nudge nudge  :worthless:

Hi Tim, Nice bass!!  One of my acoustic builds is due for a new neck so I'll take some pics and post them here.

Nathan.

Hi Naff, new here myself to but they are a good lot, let me lurk for yonks before i had the getup and go to joinin. I still have not input much as i am a newbie to all this machine stuff, i to have a Harrison 9" (L5) in the garage. It had been 25 years under a sheet with the leaky roof doing it's stuff all over it, i took a peek and thought sod it i will buy a new-un. Bought a Chester 9*20 lathe and a 16v mill, just got the lathe setup today so i will start asking lots of stuff very SOON.
 Regards. Lyn in Holywell....

Hello and thanks.  Shame about the Harrison but at least you don't have far to go for spares. I've done quite a bit of machining over the years but not much model making, should rectify that soon.

Hi Nathan, So, Bogs thread led you here eh?   Bog's youtube videos led me to here via HMEM so very long ago now (2008!)
Wet Wales? I don't belive it!  ... Quick look out the window....  Oh, yes! Wet, windy and miserable as sin!

Hope to see what you're upto soon...     :ddb:

Hi Nathan
I am a bit late on the uptake (nowt unusual there). As you are into guitars and live in north Wales, i thought you may know a mate of mine who lives near Mold. His name is Eric, and he loves making the things, and a bunch of mates get together a few nights a week for a bash at the blues.  I know!!! Wales is fairly big, :palm: but at least you are both at the same end.

Oh!! nearly forgot, welcome     :nrocks:    :ddb: :ddb: :ddb: :ddb: :ddb: :ddb: :ddb: :ddb: :ddb: :ddb:

   Cheers  Derek
