The shell pens are all the rage in the pen world, they have em as shoot gun,50 cal over and unders
http://shop.woodcraft.com/Woodcraft/assets/html/homepage.asp?URLCheck=1 here is one of the suppliers catalog on the web. Look for the pen kits instructions most of the suppliers have or had their instructions on line for downloading.
They was a couple of people that make them from real bullet parts before the kits became popular.
they also make them into tooth pick cases, and key rings

He is a 50 cal tooth pick holder out of wood, by a guy on the pen forum I belong to.

just checked and it might be a bucket thing, it isn't because you have to be a member as I just  looked in the forum and it is the same on that side. If it doesn't come back up in a while I will delete the link!  :dremel:

Pretty cool pen but looks like novelty value only to mee - I bet it's not so comfortable to write with. might be cool for a pen to take to school to impress your mates I guess.

Pete. They are comfortable to write with. I have mad a few with 6.5x55 shells (to dodgy to reload) and other calibers.
PT I think the guy you linked to may be the guy on an Oz forum (http://www.woodworkforums.com/)  And calls himself Les from red deer but I guess red deer could have more than 1 penturner :hammer:. Just don't have it in you pocket if transiting thru UAE as a friend did and spent 24 hrs in the lock up and no pen returned when they let him go.
Pete
oops..........oh no.........blast now I need to redo it

A Gismo ??? If it has a flywheel or spins and is made with small parts. I'll take one! If it makes noise, moves, or requires frequent oiling and dusting it's a better deal yet. It's especially right if its shiny and bright; but if it's dirty and dull it wont mater at all...

Well that is interesting. With all the empty brass I have around here I could probably manage one good pen out of it. Thank you for sharing that. Now I've got to try and find a decent ink refill to use....

Well if you want the best here they are Private Reserve. the easy flow 9000 ball point refills are the best most replace the refills with the pen kits with these when at the shows. the gell and roller balls are great too.
