4 cylinder - 4 stroke Boxster
« on: April 07, 2012, 08:12:50 PM »
I'm between projects, trying to organize my album and found the video of my 4 cylinder - 4 stroke brass solenoid engine that I built a while back.  Each cylinder is switched separately in line with the main switch and a rheostat with an LED indicator light in each circuit to show cylinder(s) "firing".

That's very nice work there Ralph

Lots of shiney metal and electrictrickery  :zap: working beautifully  :)

You're going to have to do us a little project log on one of your next builds. I for one am very interested in all this solenoid engine stuff.

I know there are a few others on here who like them too.

Thank you for showing this... It boosted my interest in them once again.... I must get through my tuit list.....

There are about 15 different types of engine on there amongst other projects!

Thanks Ralph.  I appreciate your interest and comments.  This was a challenging project mechanically, and the "electrictrickery" was more so.  I had a mental image of it and just proceeded with the build neglecting to document along the way.  I'll be more attentive to this in the future.  I did some build documentation on my latest engine, but I may have failed to post it.  I'll back up and see about it.  Ralph

That'd be great if you could

The mention of the rheostat made me aware that there were probably a few little secrets tucked away in that box  :smart:

I'll keep an eye out for any updates on your build  :proj:

Thanks again.  I may be able to recover a schematic and post it.  In the mean time I have found some photos of my latest build and posted them in a new thread under "What's it -- Model solenoid engine".  Ralph

That is an interesting engine for sure. Big fan of boxer style engines.
