Mothers day present Wind sculpture
« on: May 13, 2012, 12:26:48 AM »
I drew up the pieces on card stock, outlined them, then cut them out using my new plasma cutter. I spot welded the parts together and then brazed the dragonflies to the balancing arm that I made. The whole thing is about 8' in diameter and 5ish feet tall. My wife is going to paint it :ddb:

Looks like I need to go into production. Haha. The wife wants one for us now. :ddb: I have a couple Ideas I think will make it better.

A Gismo ??? If it has a flywheel or spins and is made with small parts. I'll take one! If it makes noise, moves, or requires frequent oiling and dusting it's a better deal yet. It's especially right if its shiny and bright; but if it's dirty and dull it wont mater at all...

Real cool, mind don't think they would be quite so gentle looking at my home in NE England with our normal rather blustery wind :)
