New guy intro
« on: July 19, 2012, 03:40:52 PM »
Hi all,
I have been a lurker for a while. Some of you will know me from HMEM. I am a retired Marine Engineer I mostly worked on low speed diesel engines. The shop on a Merchant ship is much like a home shop only the lathe is usually a tad bigger.

I set up a home shop well before I retired. I like all sorts of mechanical stuff and my current long term build is a 7/8" scale Shay locomotive for 45mm gauge track.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Eric I have started a new Shay thread over on MEM. I can cross post it here also if that seams like a good idea.

I also have a few other builds in the works that will fit here just fine as they are not engines just model engineering or other shop projects.
