Electra Becum Band Saw Drive Belt
« on: July 26, 2012, 04:14:38 PM »
Has anyone ever changed a drive belt on a BAS 316G Electra Becum Bandsaw.
If so how in the hell did you do it?
Would appreciate any helpfull tips before I start to dismantle bits that I shouldn't.

Thanks

Bernard

Hi Bernard,
The last one of those i did was a broken belt and i swapped it for a short piece of brammer link belt.
Still a fiddly job but at least you have a belt tensioner to tighten up with. thats if its a vee belt, i believe some of them are on a flat belt though. the only other way is to take the lower bandwheel off first.
regards John

Thanks John
I have a 4 ribbed belt and I figured it out.
Just remove the circlip on the bottom wheel and pull of the whole assembly bearings and all.
Wish they would put info like that in their manual
