New to the Forum From New Zealand
« on: October 03, 2012, 09:28:16 PM »
Hi Everyone!

Great forum

I do a bit of everything but I'm a Fitter, Turner Machinist by trade.

I've just bought a new chinese lathe CQ6230A-1. Seems to be manufactured OK but the finishing is crap. I'm looking forward to making some of the mods shown here on the site just as soon as I get rid of all the casting sand and debris from the gearboxes and slides. Still saved some skins to pay for some quality tooling.

Looking forward to posting some progress pictures as I go.

Cheers

Mark

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

I'm hoping to be making some swarf on the lathe soon but the missus has a job hopper fitted to my job list so as I complete one job from the top another slots in at the bottom   :bang:

Cheers

Hi Mark.

Welcome to the Collective.  :borg:

I started out, as a Turner/ Fitter, over 50yrs ago. Not a term which is used much, these days...... Unfortunately!  :(

As you can see, we're a mixed bunch on here.

Join in! Enjoy!  :)
