Wotcha get then?
« on: December 25, 2012, 06:45:06 AM »
After dropping several hints that were heavy enough to pull a Bridgeport off it's feet, I got a 0-25mm digital micrometer off the wife.

Did you ask for workshop stuff, and did you get what you asked for?

But I did get an A3 printer so I can print my drawings out a better size and a couple of rather nice leather bound  books .

Industrial Biograph; iron workers and tool makers  ,Smiles 1863 and James Nasmyth Engineer an autobiography .Smiles 1883

Was your orange nice John

Got woken up at 6am by a quite beeping, after looking for 10 minutes figured out it was the replace batteries alarm on the ACP uninterrupted power supply for my computer, wifi, cable/internet box. It figures Christmas morning, And a winter storm warning for tomorrow! Last time they went it was cheaper to buy a new UPC than buy the two batteries for them.
Got a new chuck for wood lathe great deal, comes with 4 sets of  assorted jaws from the wife it was a combo birthday present from last Sept and Christmas. 5 seasons of Penn and Tellers B.S. show from the daughter and her husband. And from myself a Glock 26, 4 gen sweet!
Hope everybody has a safe holiday

Dunno, threw it at the dog.

Mind you got a full set of the Smiles books all original  :headbang:

One definitely hasn't been read because they they printed these years ago they printed 16 pages per sheet, folded and stitched the fold, then sliced the tops and front.

One of these books hasn't had the pages sliced, you can only part read it from the bottom. Seemed a shame to cut it so I bought a reprint of that one, think it's the George Stevenson one

Besides other oddments, a Keats angle plate    , a book that's already on my bookshelf  :coffee: ,  and a voucher entitling me to a "steam shave" at a local barbers so trendy that I'm worried about which bit of me will get steamed and shaved.

Bet the dog was pleased John lol

The original books are in my humble opinion are much better ,re prints are just not the same ,one of the volumes in my set of Holtzapffels is the  same ,were some of the signatures have not been cut . Nowt better than a good engineering book to read , beats the hell out of the TV.

I was finally allowed to open my mini pallet of cz120 1/8" and 3/32 sheet brass !

Both little ones got more than they could have hoped. My daughter was pretty poorly, has been for the last few days but soon booked up when she started unwrapping!

Nice to see all received nice gifts. Oranges are an ideal gift as it has many uses including throwing at the dog and beats a lump of coal. My wife must have heard the cursing at times when trying to measure anything bigger than 1" with the mike as I found a set of 4 mics to 4 inch under the tree. The son sent my wife andI a kindle each mine with Terry Pratchett discworld series and hers with Kathy Reichs bones series but no oranges :jaw: Oh well always a chance next year

Socks from Number one daughter. A retro Marmite jar with spoon and Marmite from number two daughter. And from my wife a set of drills. Exactly the same set she bought me last year.

Mind,  I bought her perfume,  same as last year. So I shouldn't complain.

Dave.

Anyone want a chicken sandwich ? PLEASE have a chicken sandwich.

I got the nod to visit Hare & Forbes to see if Santa had left anything under the tree for me. I found that my wife had asked Santa to bring me a nice toolmakers vice.

And then a very friendly digital micrometer followed me home as well so I had to keep it.

Can we have Xmas in July as well?
