79 Laps
« on: March 07, 2013, 05:14:46 PM »
Today I completed my 79th lap around the sun. For those that have made fewer laps let me warn you that the speed increases quickly as the laps accumulate.  :ddb: :ddb: :ddb:

I've cut the end off it twice, but it's still too short

Happy birthday Joe. I have noticed that the years get shorter but the days get longer. I am usually exhausted by lunchtime.

Joe

Glad to see that your still lapping the Sun. I'm a few laps behind you but it seems as though each lap goes quicker. You would think as we get more mature the speed would decrease. Anyway, congratulations on still going strong on lap 79.

Rob

Glad to see your getting ready to start lap 45. Don't be in too big a hurry, they seem to pick up speed all on their own. You still have 55 laps to the finish line. After that its all bonus laps.  :D :D

Cheers

Hope you're having a great day Joe!  :D

You're right about the increasing pace!  :bugeye:

I'm a few months behind Andy Zaniste, and wondering just how I got here.........

Enjoy your day!

Thanks to all for the kind comments. I think that lapping the Sun is more exciting than just getting another year older!

Well, being into my 72nd lap around old Sol and reading the comments so far have the rest of you noticed not only does the speed of orbit increase BUT, the floor gets further away. Specially if I drop something then try to pick it up, not to mention getTing on the floor with the grand children. Or worse, getting back up. Cheers all.
Converting good metal into swarf sometimes ending up with something useful. ;-)

Joe

Happy Belated Birthday Joe. I remember someone once saying that the reason the years seem to go by faster as you get older is because we have fewer new experiences as we age. Therefore to make the years seem to slow down you have to try as many new things as you get older as you do when young.

All the Best

Add my best wishes to the pile.

I'm on my 69th lap now. And trying  hard not to drop things as I feel a great reluctance to pick them up.
But I went back to full time work last Monday (Filling in for a colleague whilst he is on holiday) so I am quite busy.

May you have many more orbits to come.
