Hello from North East UK
« on: April 05, 2013, 03:57:49 PM »
Hello all.

I live on the North East coast of England and I've been fascinated by models of all types ever since my uncle used to take me to see the model boats on the local park lake. That was 50 or so years ago, I'm now 57. I bought myself a small lathe and a small mill about 5 years ago and I've been using them to make up odd bits and pieces for my motor-bikes, I have three, a 1977 Moto Guzzi Le-Mans, a 1990 Moto Guzzi 650 and a 1994 Ducati Monster

I've been looking around lots of model engimeering sites for quite some time, I've even managed to make four small engines, starting off with the EZ engine, then a Pug, then Bogstandards Paddleducks and I'm finishing off an Elmers 24 beam engine.. Of course I've got to fit all this in with work and family but I can usually find a couple of hours a week to escape to my garage and relax, weather permitting of course as it's been a bit cold of late.

Regards

Doug

Thanks everyone. I'm from South Shields, a sandancer born and bred. I'll have to try and take a pic or two when I get time. I've got a couple of bike related jobs to do this weekend. Clutch cable snapped on the way to work so I'll have to make a new one up and the oil pressure sensor started leaking so that's to sort out too. Just wondering what the third thing will be.

Thanks everyone for the friendly welcome. I never cease to be amazed by the workmanship exhibited here, if I ever get to be a fraction as accomplished I'll be very happy.

I must admit to not being the worlds most prolific photographer, I hardly take any pics of anything at all so I've got nothing to show just yet. I do however have a couple of bike pics for those that are interested, not many mind you, for instance I have none of my Ducati yet I've owned it for over 19 years, there's just a few of my Moto Guzzi projects.
I'll stick 'em in the "Powersports" section.

Anyway, thanks again.

Doug

Well,

I'm from the sunny (today, at least!) South (as in Hampshire, UK).

But Mad Modders makes any distance irrelevant - it lets me take an interest in projects far away.

It also puts me in touch with really helpful advice and encouragement.  I like it here.   :D   :D   :D   :D   :D   :D
Best regards,

Pete W.
