Lots of advice there for newcomers... :thumbup:

Good to hear that you're an advocate of WD40 for cleaning and ordinary engine oil for lubing the ways...I've seen so much written about folk that spend lots of money on 'way' oil....there's no real need..its only there to protect and lubricate...

What do you think of way oils compounded with molybdenum disulphide that bonds to the metal of the ways and forms a durable anti-friction surface?
I am using TruEdge No. 68 sem-synthetic for "heavily-loaded slideways". Got  a gallon about 15 years ago and still going.
