Spring
« on: April 22, 2013, 08:52:14 AM »
I woke up this morning to the sound of hundreds of swallows chirping outside the boat and when I looked out, every dock and cheater line was covered in rows of swallows like beads on a string.
This just shows a small section of the marina , but it will give you an idea of what is going on here at the moment.

also we have a new guest next to the boat. Even with all the goings on, this guy was not to be deterred to chisle out a new home for himself in one of the piles.

Thanks for posting, Michael. Your pics have cheered me up from my gloom at reaching 66 today, and realising that I'm as young as I'm ever going to be for the rest of my life.

Michael,  Sorry I forgot to say thanks for the pics, the wife and I love watching the birds in our garden, but we don't have anything quite that exotic.

Cheers Dek. :med:

Thanks for the good wishes, guys.

Michael, please keep the pictures coming. I really like the swallows; they look so smug and self-satisfied when perched. Such a contrast to their frenetic activity in the air.

Hi Dek,

These are Tree Swallows. Common in North America. If you had one in your garden in the UK you would probably be invaded by bird watchers as it would be an extreme rarity. Great pics, Michael.
