Bonnie Scotland
« on: May 09, 2013, 10:52:04 AM »
Another newbie, although its taken me a while to post an introduction. Mike Young, live near Edinburgh. Main interest is motor sport. I'm a fabricator/welder during the day but do a lot of various competition car work at nights and weekends. Do a lot of alloy welding, cast and magnesium a specialty. Having to get semi-serious about my machining due to the death of a longtime friend who did all my complicated stuff.
Equipment, 1932 Lang Junior lathe (Tommy)  1950 Maho SK250 Milling machine (Herman) a 70's Boxford CUD (Junior) plus the usual stuff pillar drill, vertical linisher (Sandy)  255 Square wave TIG plant etc etc , you know the deal.
It appears that i might know "Bastard John" who himself is an accomplished race car mechanic from our early race days. I'm enjoying reading the various projects/jobs that the other members post and i think its safe to say you never stop learning.
I'm pretty crap at remembering to take photo's but i will try as i know you all value a picture !
