Posting pictures for Dummies
« on: August 02, 2013, 03:30:39 PM »
I am a computer idiot.
I read all the posts about posting pictures and assumed that is the way it is.
You all know what ass-u-me means.
I am very surprised that no one helped me find the answer.

At the bottom of the post page is a sentence that says Attachments and other options.
Click on this.

Then it says Attach, Choose file.
Click on this.

Your computer will take you to your pictures.
Double click on the picture you wish to post.
Or browse through your files for the intended picture or file.
The file number will appear and your picture will be added to your post.

However, there does not seem to be any indication that the picture is in your post,
even if you preview your post.  But it is there.  You can only see it when you click on Post.

This is why some make a separate post for each picture
so they may see it first before continuing.

Edit.  I posted two pictures on another thread.
They are large.  They came from an old cell phone.
It seems that I must re-size them first in the phone,
ubs cable them to my computer in the smaller size,
and then post them here.

Unc1esteve,

If you are running Windows 7 list the files in your directory, right click the file you want to re-size, select 'open with' then 'paint'. It has a very simple re-sizing facility - select 'pixels' then 640 x 480 and save the file. You can also crop it, rotate it etc in paint while you are there.

Hmmmm! That was easy, all I have to do is find out how to resize pictures on the iPhone.
The oily object, by the way, for those interested is the bevel box out of my wife's GN. My current project is making a new clutch and Propshaft assembly after it broke off last year whilst on a jolly in Northern Ireland I'm under pressure to get it finished for this years Jolly on the Isle of Wight.
