Doctor, I Have a Problem.....
« on: March 13, 2009, 09:50:12 AM »

Doctor...... I have a problem.......

The trouble started, I believe, when I joined a new forum some 3 months ago.

I now find it very difficult to throw anything away!

I hoard many different things, because they might be usefull in the future.

I find myself looking into rubbish skips, hoping to find something interesting.

I find it very hard not to rummage in my neighbour`s rubbish bins.

Yesterday was the final straw.......

I looked in our bin, shortly before it was to be emptied, & found the 4 year old toilet brush my wife had thrown out.

Determined to save anything of use I tried to remove the brush head.

This proved impossible, as I had glued it in place some time ago.

Realising the bin men were fast approaching, I sawed off the head as close to the bristles as I could, and threw the head in the bin.

The solid plastic handle went into my materials stock pile.

I am now rather upset......
Maybe I could have saved the head of that 4 year old bog brush for some usefull purpose?

Doctor....... What is wrong with me?

Can anything be done?

David

I'm sorry to say you have a double dose of :proj:  :proj: the only know cure is to complete a project and then its only a temporary cure, before the next project or two comes along.

As for the Bog brush fancy letting that go  :hammer: :wack: :hammer:  :wack: :hammer:  :wack::hammer:  :wack::hammer:  :wack:

there may be a glimmer of hope for you yet.

The time to start worrying is when screaming along the road, you notice say an old bolt on the carriageway, and you quickly grind to a halt to rescue it from a fate worse than death.

That is when safety starts to become an issue. The police don't like you parking in the outside lane of a motorway during rush hour.

Almost anything else is acceptable.

John, that was not a problem when driving this car (note size comparison with those on either side) as I could easily reach down and pick things off the road without having to completely stop.  It was a different story persuading my passenger to pick things out of the gutter though.

It was the wrong colour silly........ :ddb:
You will find it a distinct help… if you know and look as if you know what you are doing. (IRS training manual)

In our house, if you couldn't see the brush for flies, it would be disposed of with no further thought of recycling, just too messy for such a small gain.

On the other hand, if it got down to just a couple of bristles remaining, then it would definitely be considered a viable target.

I was wondering if it was worth trying to make friends with someone from the local Crematorium, I hear they have some nice pre owned stainless bits down there. Sure would save having to make a ball turner for the lathe.  ::)

Waste not, want not.
