There are people...
« on: October 25, 2013, 03:28:35 PM »
...who say I have a rather strange sense of humour.

Don't know about that.   :loco:

What I do have though, is a yard gate with a doorbell on it. And an alarming level of hostility towards unsolicited callers.

So this is going next to the "proper" bell-push.

How's your mojo then, mister doorstepper?

Very nice! Work of art, actually.

Wish there was an equivalent for the telephone. :wack:

Nice one Rod!

I could have used that, for today's caller.  :bang:

As usual, he wasn't "selling anything"........ He didn't, either!

Recycling at it's finest, for those that don't know, it's a rabbit trap.

Was for sale on E-Bay and the seller stated, that 'very few persons' were ever game enough to use it.

I like that a lot, but I find having a gate before the front door to the house and 2 large dogs works even better :)

I suppose on the workshop another project might be a couple of side by side blued pipe nipples, with a bead, and a cord with a pull under that says, "Thieves, save yourself some time and trouble. Pull this first before entering."

Just to see if one was stupid enough to challenge a joke, hook an alarm bell to the cord.

That's rather like the practice by some Launderette owners a few years back when there was a spate of thefts of coin boxes from tumble driers. They put a hasp and staple on that covered and concealed the proper lock, and 'locked' it with the cheapest nastiest tiny padlock that you could twist off with your fingers. When the towrag then opened the hasp a microswitch behind it triggered a VERY loud klaxon horn. You had to remember to disable it before emptying !

I approve of that one Rod, I want one for the pikeys.

Had to pay £80 to CPC for three years, now come down to around 2 phone sales calls a day plus silents.
