John,

An excellent programme including some Tig welding.

I could have done with Guy's leathers on Sunday morning when 6 of us came off our bikes on black ice at about 15mph. I don't bounce as well as I used to!

Yes quality program and well done Guy, I really enjoyed it, it makes a nice change to have a down to earth bloke just getting on with the job rather than trying to look pretty and be funny the whole show.....like most presenters these days. Unlike some presenters that try to talk like the queen and embarresses himself and all from his region, Guy is a genuine lad He really had balls of steel doing the record on that beach , I am amazed the health and safety and insurance even allowed the attempt lol
But more or less like 'the good old days' when Britain held most of these type of records, some bloke built it in the shed and just got out there and did the record and hoped for the best  :)
I think doing the TT would be a better option than the pedal cycle behind the truck at 112mph  lol , Hats of to the lad

  Cheers Mick

Hi  Don , I think it has been mentioned in another similar post about people overseas seeing these catch up type programes , it can be done but I can not tell you how exactly , hopefully someone else will . The program is a series involving Guy Martin a UK motorcycle racer , lorry machanic and general steam fan attempting to break various speed records. This one involved him having a pedal cycle built , him training and then attempting to do 112mph going along a beach in the slipstream of a custom racing truck inches from the back of it in a whipped up sandstorm with almost zero visibility.............Hence the balls of steel ( high carbon ! )

 Cheers Mick

I have figured out how to get the program to watch. Go to your favorite torrent site and search for "Speed With Guy Martin" and it should give you a choice of sites to download from. I don't own a TV so this is how I watch any shows that I like that are on the box. This should work for anyone in Canada or the USA.  :D :D

Watching, and also recording the series.....

Hi Guys, bit late to comment but, I think this was the best show that Guy has been in to date. It seems to have made with us as the target audience rather than the usual light entertainment one.

Rob,

Just watched it. Very entertaining. I thought he May have got Guy Martin to test it for him.

I don't know what happened to my number 7 set.

It reminded me of a previous Meccano post:

http://madmodder.net/index.php/topic,7218.msg77224.html#msg77224

And a serious 10:1 Scale Meccano Bridge: (It even uses square nuts.)

That meccano bridge over the canal at Little Lever in Bolton is superb!

(OT but my Mother taught at Little Lever school in the late 1930's just before the war)

What a brilliant achievement, both Meccano and TT Circuit completion.

                                                                 Cheers David
