Hello from west michigan
« on: February 03, 2014, 05:32:02 PM »
I'm a 25 year old mechanical engineer who grew up on a farm in South Dakota. I watched and learned from my dad and grandpa and I'm looking forward to learning a pile from those here with way more experience than I have.  My current projects include building a modified buildlog 2.x laser cutter, a backlog of pickup and motorcycle projects I want to get to, and hopefully a CNC or 3d printer in the near future.

Hi there sonofsprocket,
Notice you like your motorcycle projects and just thought I,d let you know I was born and raised on the Isle of Man(AKA Road Racing Capital of the World)

I am still resident here on the Island and was introduced to racing motorcycles at a very early age and it's fair to say motorcycles are in my blood.

On the 3D printing front,it is also something that I will be investing in some time this year.

I'll look forward to seeing some of your projects on here in the future.....OZ.

Hi Young Sprocket!

Welcome to the Collective.  :borg:

It's nice to welcome a younger member!

With your background and experience, we should get along very nicely.

Looking forward to sharing your adventure, and seeing some of your projects. Enjoy!  :D

Hi Sprocket,

I am tossing up as to whether to take a Sherline CNC machining system or a 3D printer into an old folks home when they come to get me in a few years so I will be following your adventures with interest.

I'd go with the 3d printer that way you could scan their dentures and make a new set when they forget where they are.
