I am relieved to be accepted here, I have always had a love of everything mechanical! But it blew me away just recently to get a banned notification from hmem! I have not even posted anything there ? I was just a admirer.
Anyway looking forward to seeing what everybody is doing here!
Thanks for letting me vent!

Banned how ??

In the past folk have been 'banned' on some forums  because they have an IP address that was once associated with spamming etc. so it's not the individual that has upset them but the IP Address.

Have you asked the Mods on HMEM why ?

Dave
I have a few modest talents. Knowing what I'm doing isn't one of them.

That IPN issue is also becoming a problem for some people sending emails.  It seems IPNs get reassigned every now and then.  So if you are unlucky enough to get an address someone else previously used for spamming or sending out viruses or some such, you may find your emails are rejected and log ons not allowed.

Hi MB.
When someone applies to become a member here.......

First, the Moderator checks his IP number. To see, he's where he says he is. Also, any spam etc notifications.

Then, check the email address. To see if they're pushing Ugg boots/ designer bags etc.

All clear? They are admitted.

Any doubtful ones are noted, and watched for their first few postings.

You look fine, to me........

When HMEM was sold it changed for the worst in my opinion.

Most of us left that place almost two years ago and reformed here:

I think that's the reason

They expect a real person to participate and post an introduction at least.
