I have access to all sorts of fancy editing software but most of the time Windows movie maker will do the job quicker and easier.

Ah...thanks David, not seen that one before......

Sadly it won't play my phones .3GP files, windoze refuses to find an update off the net as well.

On my comp I'm using Quick time to play it...

Any advice please throw it this way..... :ddb:

Hi Darren

You can convert .3gp format stuff to avi with this freeware media converter http://www.oxelon.com/omc/oxelonmedia.exe , there are lots of other freeware converters out there which all do pretty much the same thing though

Hello Guys

I originally used Windows Movie Maker which comes with the Windows XP package and achieved some reasonable results. However,on my last 'production' I kept suffering lock up problems where the programme froze. Then I  discovered that Picasa 3 (Google's own photo editing programme) now includes a video editing facility which I find easier and more enjoyable to use. Well worth a look if you haven't already tried it.

I use Ulead Video Studio 10.. It came with one of the video cards, or CD burners I bought.

It does a LOT LOT LOT of stuff. Bacisally smashing Gnats with a Sledge Hammer.

Another tool I found very Useful.. a freeware program called All To AVI.
http://alltoavi.sourceforge.net

Its nice when converting the videos I get from my phone or Camera over so that its easier to edit them, and or put them up on Youtube. You can also remove the audio if you will be overlaying it with your own music in your editing software.
