Formula 1 Pit Stops...Then and Now
« on: June 05, 2014, 09:08:28 AM »
With the Formula 1 racing season in full swing it seem a good time to post this video. Things DO change!!

Approx. 2 minute video of 1950 pit stop vs. current day pit stop.  Big difference!!

Joe

I had a look at that video and WOW what a difference. The 2013 pit stop is just too fast for us old timers. I had to watch it a dozen tmes to make sure they tightened all the wheels.

Cheers

That confirms my observation that time has speeded up. I can't do as much in a day and Xmas comes around a lot more quickly too.

Watched again and found a striking resemblance between the nut on the right front wheel of the 1950's car and Micktoon's stuck chuck. Poor guy wore himself out hammering it loose.

like it how the guy on the far side clears the "hair" away off the track prior to the car arriving in the last clip
Getting new-used tools to use to make tools to mend tools that you got to mend other ones surely counts as fair game
