CNC / Laser / Mach4
« on: July 22, 2014, 05:44:11 AM »
I've been very bad and haven't posted anything here for some time now but I have still been working on different stuff which may be of interest to others so I will do my best to post a few things.

As those using Mach3 with their CNC machines will know Mach4 is now well on the way to being completed but it will still be a while before it is finalised and released to the world.

In the meantime I have been doing some testing with Mach4 and this is just a short (1 minute) video of it laser engraving and cutting http://www.graytel.talktalk.net/Darwin 2.wmv

Impressive - apart from the Mach4 aspect which is interesting, I'd be interested to know a bit about your laser

Hi Andrew,

My laser is a 40 Watt CO2 which has been added, purely as an additional tool, to my existing CNC machine. Details of the work involved can be found here:- http://openbuilds.com/builds/co2-laser.565/

Can you give us any details about Mach4. Is it a direct replacement for Mach3.
