Title: Hi from Oxford V12 Jag nut
Post by: xjr5006 on November 17, 2015, 06:42:28 PM
Hello all,

Got here looking at that crazy XJS repair/ restoration. Done one or 2 like that in the past myself, well maybe not quite soooo rotten.
My current project is remaking all the unobtainable parts from the V12 TWR race engines, So far so good just had my 1st pair of big cam carriers made and the Big inlets manifolds everyone denies exist. Hunted theses down in the USA and brought them over. Got some f the stuff up on facebook here
 https://www.facebook.com/groups/1432458440324391/
So looking for a good machine shop that could do work at a reasonable price I guess

Hello there!

Guess who's doing the crazy XJS restoration  :loco:  :palm:  Yep... me

If you find any TWR pistons, please let me know.... I'm desperate for a set. Even if you know the part number for them, that would help, I can try to get Cosworth to make me a new lot with the part number....

Can't see your Facebook page, I'm afraid, I don't have an account - so any pics you can link would be most interesting!

Cheers!
Ade.

You are not gonna believe me now.....

I used to race these cars in the 80's. I have ....

XJR-s  TWR Cosworth
XJR`15 TWR Cosworth
Group 44 Custom Forged Not Cosworth
TWR Group C various
Rob Beaty 6.3 Cosworth
Group A rods
Jet titanium

Cranks

I know I have more than anyone in the world, big claim that, if you cannot get into FB try a search in Jaguarforums  http://www.jaguarforums.com/g/user/137318
there are a few pics here,
I am also just remaking the forever denied Group A inlet manifolds, lots of pics on Jag Forums.
When I have time I will try working out how to put pics up here.

Hi there, XJR5006,

Welcome to Mad Modders.

Go into the 'Gallery' department on the Index page - you'll find all the instructions/explanation you need to get pictures to illustrate your posts.

Please, please, get FastStone Resizer and resize your pics to the recommended size - scrolling back and forth
across and up & down big photos is the Forum equivalent of 'toothache in the gearbox'!!

Er....... Yes double valve cut outs + bowl in the middle & handed , PA part number maybe PA1534 or something like that.
Forget getting Cosworth to get anything for you, If you even get anyone interested and they miraculously come up with one of the destroyed diagrams of the piston they will get it remade in China for maybe £3k for a set and have you waiting for what they say is 16 weeks but will run to 6 months, but maybe you know this already.

Also haev the tooling for the fabled Group A inlets, the big cam carriers etc etc but sold the last set of Group A headers a while ago, sorry.
