Hi I'm Phill, New member from Derbyshire UK.
I have been working Wood and Metal for a good number of years and got into CNC a few years ago rebuilt a small cnc that does most of what I need, now building a larger one for cutting stone, I have a workshop with Holbrook lathe, vertical mill and the usual amount of smaller machines and loads of clutter that you save for another day.
Hoping to pick some of your brains on the electric side of powering up steppers and drivers.
catch you later

Hi Phill,
Welcome.
Whereabouts in Derbyshire? I'm in Cheshire but very close to the Derbyshire border.
A CNC to cut stone sounds interesting - some pictures would be nice.
Cheers.
Phil.

Hi Phill, I was born in Derbyshire but live over the border in Yorkshire :poke: Welcome, got any more details on your cnc machine, what software you use etc.

Thanks for the warm welcome lads,
The machine I rebuilt is an old Micromat I was told it "might" cut a PCB if I am lucky, like a red rag to a bull that was, new steppers, second hand screws & nuts, new controller running through Mach3 away she went been cutting Brass and Aluminum a treat.
Now looking to replace the profile rails and screws.
I also do test cuts in stone but is very messy so not to much of that.
My day job is a designer in stone and make memorials, in spare time design and cut jewelry & clock parts.
Currently building for work a cnc cutting and polishing machine, we have an old Chinese import that does the 2.1/2d profiling but it's getting worn.
I'll start a new thread shortly to show how much is done and what information I am looking for re: controlling it.
