I was using this cross drilling drilling jig the other day, and thought I would take some pics to post on here. I rescued it from the skip at work when we were moving premises. The vee block raising handle was broken off and the entire box full of bits had been tipped out. It took some time to find everything but I got there in the end. Apart from dismantling the column to remove the handle assembly for repair, and making a few odd bushes I haven’t done anything cosmetic to it. It gets a fair amount of use it’s so quick and easy to use.

Choice of alternative tables, Large dia bar in fixed vee block or small dia bar in top right table, ball drilling in table with conical recess. Flat material can be drilled on the large table which has a micrometer adjustable fence. The left hand bracket is an extended vee for the small table.

Set up with some ¼ dia brass bar on the small table. The vee block is screwed up tight to the bottom of the bush by the ratchet handle, which is a twist to reverse. And then under the drill press.

Top drawer storage for tables odd size bushes and stops.
Now how could you walk away from a skip knowing that was in there.

A pity you didn't find a ball turning tool to finish off the clamp handle!
One of the only things I miss about work is my lunchtime visits to the skip. When I retired they made me a presentation skip in brass which lives on our mantelpiece.

I had lots of good finds including a complete Gravograph engraving machine. (Later sold on Ebay for £300 as I already had 3 engravers!).
I once saw a length of cable hanging over the side of the skip with a new looking MK 13 Amp plug on it. I quickly cut the plug off and put it in my pocket. Walking round the other side of the skip I saw the cable continuing into a very nice brand new power washer which I realised wasn't scrap at all. I hastily rewired the plug and left empty handed.

Thought somone might have picked me up on the micrometer adjustment, when in fact its a vernier adjustment.
Loved the Skip Phil only thing is it looks empty!!! Nice to chat to you at the show.
