Title: One of those special moments
Post by: CrewCab on May 20, 2009, 06:46:18 PM
This is going to be so off topic for an engineering forum ...... but .............. I'm sorry ............ I have to do this  :D :D :D

about an hour or so ago my Granddaughter gave birth to a baby boy ......... 6lbs 1oz .............. Mum and sprog are doing fine, though Mum had a bit of a hard time, sadly that now makes me a GGG'dad  :bugeye:

OMG .............. can someone on here build me a Time Machine and take me back to the sixties

Well at least you'll be second in line for the babysitters jobs eh?

GGGdad? Never would have thunk it.

Neither would I  :bugeye: ............. eldest son's wife is a few years older than him, so 10 years ago I suddenly inherited 1x Daughter in law + 3 x kids  :bang: ............ got to say at the time I was less than impressed

but ................ that's water under  the bridge and we now have a great family .......... so Kerry (new mum) at 21 now has a little son who is my (step) Great Grandson .............. goddamit that's severely frightening  ............... for the record I an a mere 56 years old  :med:

GGGDad?  Congratulations!  You must be so pleased and I am sure everyone else around here is too!

 :worthless:

I guess this means you get full cuddle and fussing rights but you are twice removed from any baby-sitting and nappy duties?

Congratulations  Dave GGgrand son .

What are you going to build him for his first Christmas present, a nice little engine would be nice. He can then show it to his own grand kids and say me great grand Dad made this

Enjoy your little blessing.

Congratulations.

Perfect excuse for new toys.  Go into the local toystore, find something that catches your eye, and buy it.  "Just for when he's a bit older", you say.

I used to buy those small Lego kits, assemble them, and stick them on top of the computer at work.  When I got bored with them, I'd go get another, and repackage the old one as it was when I bought it.  Gave those to the neices and nephews at family functions.  Win-win.
