Here are some of the bikes I saw at the Owl's Head Transportation Museum in Maine a few weeks ago. With OKTomT's and Simon's bike build threads here I thought they would be of some interest!:

Nice!!

Lovely machines and sitting in proper oil trays like they are supposed to (except a couple that appear to be out of oil).
Someone told me that the modern Triumphs are supplied with a realistic plastic oil slick to be placed under the machine when it is parked. Of course, this could be a rumour.

Thank you......

That last one is a strange beast, somehow I can't imagine speeding down the road just sitting in the front like that! Maybe for the mother inlaw?

Proper machines like these don't leak oil, they mark their spot :)
Beautiful photos, thanks for posting.
Regards
Steve.

Very nice Steve. The Pierce in line 4 cylinder is a very neatly executed design.....OZ.

Thanks Modders!
You probably all like the engine details as much as I do, especially with the new bike builds going on here. So here are the shots I have:

Very nice. I do like looking at early motorcycles. Lots of novel ideas and there's something very... mechanical about them.

Hi Steve, thanks for showing some great pics. My first motorbike was an Excelsior Autocycle having a Villiers 98cc engine. I had some great fun on that machine, until four years later when I upgraded to a Francis Barnet 125 cc. I sold the Excelsior for fifteen pounds, and have now seen one for sale for £2,500. Should have kept it.
Cheers David
