Just completed this clamping drill.
You can clamp the complete unit to a large work piece the idea is that I can use it to drill the frame of the 5" loco i'm building giving me greater control of the drilling operation.
It just comprises of a windy drill/die grinder attached to a large toolmakers, it slides up and down the pillar via a lever mechanism.

Great idea Stu, another ' outside of the box' thought......
Btw, the pb link is faulty......

Drill is nice...somewhat like mag drill or somewhat I had to with table drill, turn head back and clamp over large part, because that part would not fit into throat.
You just need to copy/paste the whole link...

Board SW seems to cut too long links or something.

My apologies to Stu....

fixed the photobucket link... I think
-
when I try to look at the picture using the first link, it appears for a second then photobucket tells me I have to disable my adblocker to view the image.
photobucket can bugger off.
the second link doesn't work.
luckily I can see it on the model engineer forum.

I'm really getting P******d off with photobucket it use to work great then this greedy corporate lot got hold of the site and F*****d it up. I have paid my extra dues to get rid of the adverts and its still not working correctly any suggestion for an alternative photo host.

FWIW, For any pics I want to share I use 'dropbox' I don't even bother clicking on PB anymore, they can close my account as far as I'm concerned.
